Screen St Ives is the community cinema for the town based at the St Ives Corn Exchange. It was founded in 2011 by ACE – Friends of St Ives Corn Exchange, to enable the screening of films for the benefit of the whole community.
Our programme of monthly screenings covers a wide variety of films, with the aim of promoting access to cinema, encouraging interest in film as an art form, and fostering a stronger sense of community within St Ives and the surrounding area.
Each screening includes a brief introduction and an optional post-film discussion group encourages people to talk about the merits of the movie shown. Everyone is welcome to come along and join us.
Occasionally a short film will precede the main feature. We have previously shown works produced by local students from the nearby St. Ivo School.
Films are screened on the third Friday of each month in the main hall at the St Ives Corn Exchange. Doors open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8pm. Refreshments are available before the screening.
All money raised by Screen St Ives goes towards the purchase of dedicated screening equipment for the Corn Exchange, to allow regular or one-off film events to take place in the town centre.
